I am saying really big 30-40 million dollar SHIPS!\r\n\r\nAlso in S.D. were many wealthy people driving expensive cars, motorhomes and living in hilltop mansions which could  see the bay or ocean. We were amazed at all the wealth every where we went in this beautiful seaside city of S.D.\r\n\r\nThen I read a verse from Prov.22:1  It was a great lesson !!! It read, \"A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold\"\r\n\r\nI began to think about what Solomon said---- a godly reputatin is worth more than a 40 million dollar yacht. ---- a good name makes a man richer than someone with a mansion on the hill,  hmm.... hmm...\r\n\r\nBy the way the man who owned the 40 million dollar yacht was paranoid. He was afraid of being kidnapped. He had 5-6 big bold body guards surrounding him as he boarded his boat. The man lived in fear of losing his life. Extremely rich but extermely afraid of being ransomed.  What a prison of wealth. Rich but always in fear of robbery extortion carjacked, \"shipjacked\" ETC.\r\n\r\nIn God's eyes everone who has a good name is WEALTHY.  I began to realize that riches are a great prison for most people. After all value is determined by God. He gives us  value, He alone sets the price of true wealth. \r\n\r\nTo be esteemed by God is the greatest and highest value of all.  Solomon is really saying to us. GUARD YOUR NAME AND YOU WILL HAVE GREAT WEALTH\r\n\r\nNo wonder the Bible tells us, all can be rich in Christ. It was a great , exhausting culture shock. We have been to Baja to the Mestako Indians but this was beyond that experience. We have been to the Triqui Indians and their cardboard and plastic homes but this was a greater stretch. We have been 7000 miles to Ukraine but the shock was even more difficult.\r\n\r\n\"The Earthquake\" left extensive damage greater than what we saw on TV. The poverty left us sick at what people did to survive. The heat, humidity, odors, diesel fumes and hours long ride in the back of a pickup with a protective cage harboring us was the worst ride to and from our destinations. The beautiful children crowded into orphanages with little to eat was heartbreaking.\r\n\r\nWhat did we enjoy?  Haitian singing by kids and adults was the best blessing. They were not lamenting the loss and devastation one minute. The beautiful church with 450 people dressed in their best outfits was exhilarating. The name of this church was A SAVING STATION FOR EVERY NATION. That was one of my highlights to preach God's word to my Haitian brothers and sisters.\r\n\r\nWe immensely enjoyed the children in the four orphanages we surveyed. These kids were bright, well mannered, fun loving and full of faith and the knowledge of the Scripture. Many of them hung on our arms and touched our hair to get to know us. They also said things like \"I love you\" in English and \"Take me home\".  Some had been adopted and they knew it was a real possibility for it to happen.\r\n\r\nEven though we stayed in a nice hotel we were wrung out in sweat, heat exhaustion, long pickup truck rides through crowded traffic jams(literally hours) and long days of ministry to children. The trip was definitely worth all the expense and effort.\r\n\r\nOut team will go back again. We will sponsor an orphanage, We will take others with us. We will pray for God's moving in the hearts of the devastated people and orphans. We will raise money to make a difference for the Lord.\r\n\r\nSoon I will have photos on the media page for all to see. You can make a difference. We are looking for an opportunity to eventually sponsor one of these orphanages in this region. As you know there are over 100,000 children in these very humble homes. I have done well with my back for many months now no problem. All winter was fine and I was totally amazed. It felt great.\r\n\r\nBut this spring! Well--- things happened, you know outside in the garden, shoveling,and pulling weeds, and raking and all the outdoor stuff took its toll.\r\n\r\nSo the back started doing its  REBELING.  And I really wasn't surprized. I have so much fun in the back yard that I knew sooner or later it would rebel.\r\n\r\nSo off to the chiropracter I went and got straightened out again.\r\n\r\nBack Adjustment or Attitude Adjustment or Spiritual Adjustment. They need to be fixed.\r\n\r\nBack adjustments are so easy (relatively speaking). In and out in fifteen minutes. Correct the malady on the short leg and everything is good to go for another month or so. Winning with a great Dr. is so fine!\r\n\r\n\r\nAttitude adjustments are not so easy. Being  lazy, or angry, or discouraged, or selfish, or hypocritical, well they take more time. After emerging from my denial it means admitting that I was wrong sinful and lazy.\r\n\r\nNow Spiritual Adjustments would be impossible except for Jesus. \"Dear Jesus please forgive me I was wrong.\"\r\n\r\nYes, those difficult words do make a miraculous difference. And they always work wonders for me.\r\n\r\nThank you Jesus for once again adjusting my relationship with you and others. It was actually quite fun standing in the back of the truck just throwing it all on the ground in the waste area of the dump.\r\n\r\nIt takes along time to clean out the garage, backyard, attic, trash heap or wherever you may keep all the bad stuff. It piles up so very fast and makes a mess in a hurry.\r\n\r\nBut it is so much fun unloading everything and it is a \"power trip\" throwing it all overboard, sweeping out the bed of the truck and driving away from the heavy load of garbage.\r\n\r\nOur lives get piled up too with garbage, trash, burdens and all kinds of sin. When I pray and dump my sins overboard, sweep out my life and drive away it feels so good to be clean again.\r\n\r\nThe dump reminded me of how good it is to get the load of evil off my shoulders. I've learned  that I can go to the dump everyday and get clean again.\r\n\r\nThe local dump cost me $21.00----- not too bad considering all the bad stuff I had.\r\n\r\nI found out the price is much higher if I wait too long.\r\n\r\nThe same is true in my spirit too. We are planning to go on an exploratory trip in May to scout out various ministries Cornerstone might have with an orphanage in that needy area.\r\n\r\nThe Kaiser medical staff said we must be prepared. Since Haiti is a tropical island several shots are mandatory.\r\n\r\nPam and I already have received our Hep.A and Hep.B shots from going to Ukraine. However more is needed.\r\n\r\nToday we received typhoid, tetenas, and pneumonia(me only this one). We also need Malaria medications starting four weeks prior to departure.\r\n\r\nIf our trip were any longer they also recommended Rabies (3 of them) shots too. We said no to this one since neither of us plan on petting any stray animals.\r\n\r\nThere is no substitute for prepartion. One must always be ready to guard against the hidden attacks of the bacteria world.  \r\n\r\nWhat a lesson for us today!\r\n\r\n\r\nThere are many hidden spiritual attacks in the Christian world too.We need to be on guard for the sneak attacks of our eternal enemy. He infects the health of many believers.\r\n\r\nEph. 6:11 \"Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand against the devils schemes\"\r\n\r\nThe spiritual world of attacks is much worse than the bacterial world of disease. We were both asleep in bed. The noise was above our bedroom.\r\n\r\nPam said it was loud like something pawing its way across the rooftop and making loud noises. I didn't hear a thing. Pam woke me up \"There is something on our roof\". My very brilliant response was \"Well I'm not going to get up and go look now\".\r\n\r\nI really didn't feel any real danger or threat and wasn't going to pull myself out of bed at some ungodly hour to peer into the dark looking for a \"squirrel\".\r\n\r\nThe noise persisted but Pam finally went back to sleep.\r\n\r\nLater we found our shingles ripped off the roof and a good sized hole going down into the attic.\r\n\r\nSure enough a raccoon (we are guessing) with sharp claws was having fun with our cedar shingles. Yes, we had rain damage, a repair bill, and an ugly water stain on the ceiling.\r\n\r\nIt reminds me of our verse of the week. \"Do not merely listen to the word, and deceive yourselves.
