DUMP! DUMP!

Take it to the dump. What a great idea! Just fill up the truck and go unload all the junk.
I recently went to the dump. It was actually quite fun standing in the back of the truck just throwing it all on the ground in the waste area of the dump.
It takes along time to clean out the garage, backyard, attic, trash heap or wherever you may keep all the bad stuff. It piles up so very fast and makes a mess in a hurry.
But it is so much fun unloading everything and it is a "power trip" throwing it all overboard, sweeping out the bed of the truck and driving away from the heavy load of garbage.
Our lives get piled up too with garbage, trash, burdens and all kinds of sin. When I pray and dump my sins overboard, sweep out my life and drive away it feels so good to be clean again.
The dump reminded me of how good it is to get the load of evil off my shoulders. I've learned that I can go to the dump everyday and get clean again.
The local dump cost me $21.00----- not too bad considering all the bad stuff I had.
I found out the price is much higher if I wait too long.
The same is true in my spirit too. Don't wait too long to get the load off your shoulders.

RESURRECTION POWER

YES, the Easter Message is all about JESUS RESURRECTION POWER.
Easter 2010 is now history but not Jesus Power.
He promised " All power is given to me...and I will be with you always" We have Jesus and we have His power too. What a great promise.
This of course means that the resurrection power is the very same kind of power available to all of us believers. WOW!
Remember this great verse. "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him..." 2Pet.1:3
I use that power daily. I encourage you to also use his divine power to apply to all your needs as they arise.
The tragedy is we forget or neglect to take advantage of his daily power.
Use that power when you go to work or school, when you need to solve problems and when to get upset or angry. Always call on his mighty power.
Last Sunday many people at Cornerstone signed up to draw on His might power.

IMMUNIZATIONS

Pam and I went to get our Haiti vaccinations. We are planning to go on an exploratory trip in May to scout out various ministries Cornerstone might have with an orphanage in that needy area.
The Kaiser medical staff said we must be prepared. Since Haiti is a tropical island several shots are mandatory.
Pam and I already have received our Hep.A and Hep.B shots from going to Ukraine. However more is needed.
Today we received typhoid, tetenas, and pneumonia(me only this one). We also need Malaria medications starting four weeks prior to departure.
If our trip were any longer they also recommended Rabies (3 of them) shots too. We said no to this one since neither of us plan on petting any stray animals.
There is no substitute for prepartion. One must always be ready to guard against the hidden attacks of the bacteria world.
What a lesson for us today!
There are many hidden spiritual attacks in the Christian world too.We need to be on guard for the sneak attacks of our eternal enemy. He infects the health of many believers.
Eph. 6:11 "Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand against the devils schemes"
The spiritual world of attacks is much worse than the bacterial world of disease. The enemy can destroy your spiritual health forever.
Apostle Paul told us to put on the full armor of God so we may stand securely and victoriously against his power.
Join me in wearing the Helmet of salvation, Breastplate of righteousness, Belt of truth, Shield of faith, and Sword of the Spirit.
We can defeat all enemies with this kind of protection wherever we go even to a foreigh country.

HOLE IN ROOF

Pam heard a noise on the roof not long ago. We were both asleep in bed. The noise was above our bedroom.
Pam said it was loud like something pawing its way across the rooftop and making loud noises. I didn't hear a thing. Pam woke me up "There is something on our roof". My very brilliant response was "Well I'm not going to get up and go look now".
I really didn't feel any real danger or threat and wasn't going to pull myself out of bed at some ungodly hour to peer into the dark looking for a "squirrel".
The noise persisted but Pam finally went back to sleep.
Later we found our shingles ripped off the roof and a good sized hole going down into the attic.
Sure enough a raccoon (we are guessing) with sharp claws was having fun with our cedar shingles. Yes, we had rain damage, a repair bill, and an ugly water stain on the ceiling.
It reminds me of our verse of the week. "Do not merely listen to the word, and deceive yourselves. Do what it says".
I was deceived because I didn't listen to the obvious sounds and warning signs.
When God speaks to you are you listening or not? Doing or not?
Take it from me you could pay a very high price!

WEEDS

It is spring almost and the weeds are here already.
I was out in my yard recently and looked at the harvest of weeds,weeds,and more weeds everywhere.
I also saw that the clover was just about ready to take over my beautiful lawn. Now I like the wonderful symmetry of the special little three and four leaf clovers but not in my front yard over running 25 sq. feet of prime lawn.
So I went down to the local hardware and picked up a bottle of weed (but not lawn) killer. After 3 applications I finally saw some results. Now I have to work on the backyard.
What do you do with weeds?
What do you do with the weeds of anger, bitterness, gossip etc. when they grow in your life and mine too?
Spring is almost here but the weeds grow all year.
God is my gardener. "Dear God please weed out the dandilions of evil words and thoughts. I want to spring ahead to grow a great harvest for you this year."
