HELPING HAITI HEAL

01-20-2011

As you know Haiti is still in very desperate need of much help and prayers.

Our Haiti Team will leave rather soon , Mar. 11-18 for an important ministry there of evangelism, orphan care and encouragement to leaders and Pastors.

Will you pray now and until we leave for a great outreach? Pam I and are truly grateful that our financial needs have been taken care of. However, some of our six team members really need financial assistence. Would you pray for them? They are really stepping out on shear faith to go sacrifice and serve.

A special gift would truly be a wonderful blessing to them. Would you consider helping our other team members go serve orphans?

We will spend some time in the big city at an ophanage bringing supplies with the gospel and some time in the primitive villages outside Port Au Prince where a Pastor is establishing a church. They meet in a tent and are helping the believers learn chicken farming to support themselves. We plan to do door to door outreach. The villagers live in bamboo and mud hut houses. They have almost nothing.

This is a very exciting opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission in a desperate country. Will you help send our team from Cornerstone? Thank you.

THE NUTCRACKER

01-11-2011

Over the holidays Pam and I went to see the Nutcracker at the historic Paramount Theatre in Oakland.

We had a special reason for making the trip. My niece was dancing in the starring role as Marie. Also my sister from West Virginia came many miles through winter snow storms to see her daughter perform the lead role.

We were all bursting with pride and excitement to see our beautiful family member achieving a life long dream (she is the ripe old age of 21 years) come true.

But no one just walks onto the stage and into a starring role to become an overnight success in the ballet world.

Behind the scenes Steph has worked many hard long hours, attended many schools of ballet, studied under many dance instructors and paid a very high price in self discipline and many others ways.

Success in the dance world is costly, very costly. Achievers pay the price for success and the toll on the dancers body is enormous. I believe professional dancers careers last about 10 years or less.

Steph is a great example of personal discipline, courage to pursue your goals and total devotion to God. She is a truly committed believer. She achieved her dreams because she put God first and used her talents for Him.

We are now in the New Year already it is 2011!! What are your dreams for this year? What ever they may be remember they take courage, personal discipline and 100% devotion to God.

SURPRISE GIFT

12-25-2010

Yes I received a surprise! Overcome! I was totally blown away by what happen last Sunday after the sermon!

We had a great "Sounds of Christmas Joy" musical worship service with lots of special talent last week and then it happened. They surprised me with a Christmas present.

The elders came up with Pastor Mark and said they had a surprise gift for me. First they all prayed for me and Pam and our ministry. Next they put three boxes on a table in front of me and said open.

It was like the ad, you know........OPEN...OPEN...OPEN!

So I began to open and weep in front of the entire church family. First box was a huge Nikon camera (not the pocket size but the professional size). Second box was a telephoto lens to go with the already huge camera. I think the lens (300mm) weighs about 10 pounds, it is beautiful. Finally the third box was books teaching me how to use my new photo toys.

What can I say..... I was never so surprised in my life.

So this is how I felt as I opened the gifts. First I felt really really loved by this Godly family of believers, then I felt so many emotions like...humbled, tearful, unbelief, how come me?, all too expensive for our struggling group, appreciated and truly honored by my (I mean our) family. I felt really speechless of saying anything meaningful.

I was truly blessed in a overwhelming way last Sunday.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

THANKSGIVING

11-18-2010

I can't believe we are in the fall and close to THANKSGIVING again!

So now is the official time to be thankful. It is popular to be thankful. It is expected to be thankful. It is proper to be thankful. It is almost required to be thankful. It is rude not to be thankful. It is atheistic to not be thankful.

So everywhere you go people are thankful because it is totally expected to give thanks and count your blessings. RIGHT?

But when I read the Bible I discover that thanksgiving is to be done everyday in everyway and every problem and adversity throughout the entire year.

"In everything give thanks" all circumstances and unknown situations.

OK, now God has my attention! He wants me to learn this principle no matter what is going on in my life. Thanksgiving happens annually the 4th Thursday in November each year but God wants me to do it 365 days per year after year, after year.

Now I need supernatural help to perform this kind of miracle.

"Dear Lord please give me the faith to accept my daily activities, challenges and burdens with THANKSGIVING you ask of all believers. This is supernatural and I cannot live up to this command without your supernatural strength"

So all my friends, will you join me in this supernatural adventure and begin to give thanks no matter what happens to you? Try being thankful by faith and join me in discovering the miracle power of God this time of year.
