Hospital For Hurting; Not A Retirement Home For Saints

What is your view of church? Jesus said he came to heal the sick, not those who are well. Sometimes people get it backwards. They think church is this collection of wonderful people like Saints who have arrived and solved all life's problems. Some think it's a retirement home or museum where the righteous and self-righteous are on display.

But not true, church is for the beat up and burned out. Jesus came for the weak, wild, weary and especially the wicked. Who said church is full of hypocrites? Of course it is! It is also full of liars, gossips, discouraged, and others who have come to get healed. Church is a hospital for everyone who hurts and for those sick of losing out on the real meaning of life.
